Help create a business climate for growth and new businesses

• Focus expansion, attraction, recruitment and business climate resources toward industries that demonstrate growth.
• Broaden small business formation and commercialization strategies, and better align capital to assist in both.
• Invest in community infrastructure that supports business growth.

Maximize talent development to meet demand

• Increase and realign workforce development resources to meet increased demand.
• Streamline WorkForce Center customer processes and adopt technology to improve service delivery.
• Ensure staff are trained to meet changing customer needs.

Create a culture of sustainable collaboration

• Identify and support initiatives that strengthen regional economies.
• Align all program investments with state and regional strategies.

Raise awareness of Minnesota’s advantages and opportunities

• Survey stakeholders to identify key messages that will resonate with DEED’s primary audiences: job seekers, businesses and communities.
• Promote Minnesota’s unique state and regional assets.
• Use a variety of measures to document department performance and ensure accountability.
