WorkForce Centers as Employment Networks

The Social Security Administration supports its Ticket to Work program with Employment Networks. The Ticket to Work program is an employment program for people with disabilities who are interested in going to work, and an Employment Network is an organization that provides services to help them get there.

Employment Networks are a core component of the Ticket to Work program  and are responsible for providing employment services to eligible Supplemental Security Income and Social Security Disability Insurance Ticket-holders who choose to go to work.

Employment Networks can be a single entity, a partnership or alliance of public or private entities, or a consortium of organizations collaborating to combine resources to serve Ticket to Work participants.

Under the Pathways to Employment initiative, in collaboration with the Department of Labor Disability Program Navigators, Minnesota WorkForce Centers and Vocational Rehabilitation Services, two Minnesota WorkForce Centers developed and are piloting a model for serving as Employment Networks. If successful, this model will be expanded to other Minnesota WorkForce Centers, enabling them to better serve Minnesotans with disabilities in job counseling, placement, interviewing, resume-writing, training or other job support services.
