2007 Radio Ad Campaign

In 2007, PTE created a series of radio ads that promote the benefits of employing people with disabilities. The ads were broadcast on WCCO radio (830 AM) and on stations of the Minnesota News Network (MNN) in Greater Minnesota. Ads ran from July 15 through November 2007.

The radio ads were geared to three audiences: the general public, people with disabilities and employers. The general audience ad, "I Am", aimed to increase public awareness and carried an anti-stigma message designed to positively change attitudes about people with disabilities in the workforce.

The “Myth-Buster” ad was geared to employers and was designed to address, in a positive way, concerns employers may have about hiring people with disabilities, and spoke to one of employers’ most common problems--finding qualified people for their workforce.

The "Did You Know?" ad communicated that people with disabilities can work and highlighted some of the primary benefits/motivations for working.

All three ads concluded by directing listeners to visit the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) website, and the Disability Linkage Line website as sources for more information. About 70 free information packets were distributed as a result of the campaign.
