Trade Mission to Europe
With Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton


Minnesota Europe 2013


Governor Mark Dayton will lead a trade mission to Germany, Norway, and Sweden June 12-21, 2013.

Delegates will travel to the business centers of Berlin, Dusseldorf/Cologne, Oslo, and Stockholm for meetings with business leaders and government officials, presentations by market and industry experts, networking activities, and business site visits.

Why Germany, Norway and Sweden?
Germany is Minnesota’s fifth-largest trading partner and one of the state’s largest foreign investment partners. Norway and Sweden are among the most competitive markets in the world and are easy to enter for Minnesota companies. Europe has opportunities in many sectors and is an important element of any export strategy.

Mission Objectives
The mission will focus on growing state exports, building new business opportunities and partnerships for Minnesota companies, and strengthening existing relationships with longstanding partners in Europe. Objectives include:

  • Exploring trade opportunities
  • Acquiring market information, business contacts and partners
  • Supporting current business interests in Europe
  • Developing relationships with key trade organizations
  • Exploring foreign direct investment opportunities

Mission Agenda and Events
The Minnesota Trade Office, in conjunction with the U.S. Commercial Service and other U.S. and European partners, will organize an extensive business agenda. Potential events include:

  • Market and industry presentations
  • B2B meetings
  • Meetings with key industry cluster groups
  • Networking receptions
  • Government meetings
  • Site visits

The Minnesota Trade Office will consider applications from all Minnesota-based companies and organizations with activities or business interests in Europe. 

Download the Trade Mission Application and submit to the Minnesota Trade Office by TUESDAY, MARCH 5, 2013, according to the instructions on the application. 

Estimated Expenses
Estimated mission cost is $7,500 per person, including round-trip coach air travel, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, mission events, and in-country assistance from the Minnesota Trade Office.  The final mission cost depends upon the number of delegates sharing common expenses.

Sponsorships
Sponsorships they offer a significant marketing opportunity for your organization. There are three levels of sponsorship available for this trade mission, ranging from general sponsorships to special event sponsorships. Funding Available for Minnesota Small Businesses
