Tax-Free Development
Overview
Our Job Opportunity Building Zone (JOBZ) initiative provides a wide variety of local and state tax exemptions to companies that start up or expand in targeted areas of Greater Minnesota.
There are 10 job zones comprising more than 29,000 acres in about 325 communities. Each zone includes acres for primarily industrial, value-added, or high paying service businesses.
We use the program to promote development outside the Twin Cities metropolitan area in places that are already poised for business growth and have adequate infrastructure in place.
The program is ideal for restoring productivity to under-used and unproductive properties through development, redevelopment, reclamation or recycling.
