Minnesota ranks third in bioscience-related patents per one million residents and fourth in bioscience occupational employment per 1 million residents, according to The Battelle/BIO State Bioscience Initiatives report (2010).

And the Greater Philadelphia Life Science Cluster Report ranks Minneapolis ninth in the overall composite index for life sciences (2009).
