Business Subsidies Reporting

Minnesota Stat. §116J.993 to §116J.995 provide the operating and reporting guidelines for government agencies and businesses related to business subsidies and financial assistance.

  • Reporting Requirements - State law requires state and local government agencies to annually report business subsidy and financial assistance activity to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). Please review the statutes (Minn. Stat. §116J.993, §116J.994, and §116J.995 ) for specific reporting and operating requirements.

    The Minnesota Business Assistance Form (MBAF) should be used to report and/or update each calendar year’s activity by April 1 of the following year.

  • Business Assistance Reports - Summaries of the performance for businesses that received business subsidies and financial assistance from state and local government agencies.

  • Minnesota Business Assistance Forms - Submitted by government agencies for all projects and activity reported in the Business Assistance Report.

    2008, 2007, 2006 , 2005 , 2004 , 2003 , 2002 , 2001, 2000

  • Criteria -  A business subsidy may not be granted until the grantor has adopted criteria after a public hearing for awarding business subsidies that meet the definition in Minn. Stat. §116J.994.  Criteria submitted by agencies during the following years:

    2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 , 2004 , 2003 , 2002 , 2001, 2000
