State and National Unemployment Rates
Minnesota's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell by one-tenth of a percentage point to 7.3 percent in January.
Note: Regular users of Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS) data should note that the date series now available on this Web site reflects revisions back to 1976. These revisions include new population controls as well as the implementation of a new ‘smoothing’ method for seasonally adjusted data. Revised data diverge slightly from the original data in most months going back several years.
The national unemployment rate also fell slightly to 9.7 percent in January.
