Manufacturing Business Conditions Surveys

The Manufacturing Business Conditions Survey attempts to gauge the sentiments of Minnesota manufacturers concerning themselves and the state economy.

Each of the tables below contain two sets of results.  In the first set, each business in the population was considered equally, regardless of size.  In the second set, responses were weighted to reflect employment at the respondent's site, giving large employers more weight than small employers.  For further details, see the methodology write-up listed below the tables.

2009 Year-End Report
Manufacturers report their industry declined more than expected in 2009, with drop-offs in orders, profits and employment. Respondents are uncertain about what to expect in 2010.
