Mary E. Schmidt

Mary E. Schmidt joined DEED in 2007 to work with the Governor’s Workforce Development Council. She is involved with a cross-agency initiative to help low-wage and low-skill adult workers improve their prospects in the labor market. She worked for 10 years at the World Bank doing policy analysis and lending to governments in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. Mary has a bachelor’s degree from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn., and a master’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.  mary.schmidt@state.mn.us
