U.S. Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U)

On a seasonally adjusted basis the March CPI-U increased 0.5 percent from February. The March CPI-U increased 2.7 percent from March 2010. This was the largest 12-month increase since December 2009. The index for energy increased 3.5 percent from February to March. The food index rose 0.8 percent from February. The March index for all items less food and energy rose 0.1 percent. The 12-month change in the index for all items less food and energy rose 1.2 percent from March of 2010.
