U.S.Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U)

On a seasonally adjusted basis the June CPI-U declined 0.1 percent from May. The June CPI-U increased 1.1 percent from June 2009. The index for energy decreased 2.9 percent from April to May, and another 2.9 percent from May to June. This decrease drove the All Items index’s decrease for June. The All Items index has decreased for three straight months, driven by the decreases in the energy index. The food index remained unchanged from April and May. The June index for all items less food and energy rose 0.2 percent from May.
