Volunteer Overview

The lifeblood of our Communication Center is a dedicated corps of more than 700 volunteers throughout Minnesota and the nation. Each year, our volunteers donate the equivalent of $1.7 million in work hours.

Without this generous contribution of time and talent, we could not produce 750,000 pages of Braille that we do each year; record nearly 1,000 books into audio; prepare and record thousands of hours of programming for the Radio Talking Book or repair thousands of cassette tape machines.
