Business Enterprises Program Careers
The Minnesota Business Enterprises Program provides opportunities for legally blind Minnesotans to own and operate their own business and become self-supporting.
The program consists of franchised vending and convenience store businesses that provide services on federal, state, county, city, and private property under the jurisdiction of Minnesota State Services for the Blind.
The businesses include snack bars, gift shops, vending machine sites and routes, and vending machines at highway rest areas throughout the state The owner/operators are Minnesotans who are legally blind and meet specific criteria under federal law to participate in the program.
The program has a staff of eight that provide management, technical and administrative support and training to each owner/operator.
Applicants must work with a Vocational Rehabilitation counselor in our WorkForce Development department and must successfully complete a comprehensive evaluation and extensive training to be eligible and qualified for a business of their own.
