Biofuels, Solar and Wind

Minnesota Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) are developing a growing number of programs in biofuel, solar and wind technologies, sometimes with courses in all three industries.

Check this page often since the number of courses will increase significantly in the coming years.

Biofuels

• Minnesota West Community and Technical College has an AAS degree in biofuels and a certificate program in ethanol.
   
• The Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College offers a Clean Technology Certificate with classes in wind, photovoltaic, home energy and alternative and renewable energy systems.

Solar

• Century College is unveiling in the fall 2009 semester a solar assessor’s certificate to tap the growing market for solar assessments. Century also plans future certificates and associate’s degrees in solar technology and renewable energy. The school offers Saturday non-degree classes in solar and renewable.
   
• Hibbing Community College offers a solar voltaic technician certificate.
   
• St. Paul College has a Photovoltaic systems and Certificate of Knowledge (COK) Exam continuing education course for electrical engineers, journeymen & master electricians.

Wind

• Minnesota West Community and Technical College has AAS degree in wind technology and a diploma program in wind mechanics.
   
• Mesabi Range Community and Technical College offers a two-year degree program in wind energy.
