Overview
Once you've made the big transition from job searching to landing the job, the next goal is job success. There are specific skills you need to know and use to be successful at your job.
It's important to practice these skills prior to starting the job. First impressions show from day one. And, as we've already said, only get one chance to make a good first impression.
This isn't a complete list. It's a good idea to check with your supervisor about what's most important. Employers say more people lose their job because they don't use good work habits, rather than they aren't able to do the job.
The suggestions that follow are based on input from gathered from surveys of employers. It is the advice that they would give to new employees to help them integrate into a new work environment.
