Dakota-Scott Workforce Investment Board

Overview

In association with the Dakota County Board of Commissioners, the Dakota-Scott Workforce Investment Board (WIB) oversees employment and training programs in Dakota and Scott Counties.

With a strong commitment to serving both employers and job seekers, the WIB is a state leader in developing innovative programs through our WorkForce Centers in West Saint Paul, Burnsville and Shakopee.

Jobs are the backbone of robust communities. The WIB brings together both public and private resources for job seekers and employers. We are vigorous advocates of workforce development and employer concerns. Our local initiatives have both energized our local workforce and supported employers needs.

To strengthen the economic life of the community, we have fashioned a network of partnerships to create Dakota Future, an economic development partnership that fosters a healthy climate for new and existing businesses, and the Dakota-Scott Youth Council, which oversees youth programs in our community and advocates for young people who are at risk.

Meeting Times
The WIB meets each month from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Rooms 110 B and C at the Dakota County Northern Service Center, 1 Mendota Road West, West Saint Paul, MN.

Meetings are open to the public and feature presentations on developments affecting the economic health of the community. Meeting location changes occasionally to accommodate special events. Be sure to check the schedule
