Minnesota Family Investment Program - Employment Services
The Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) provides support for low-income families with children that helps parents move from welfare to unsubsidized employment. For most parents participation in employment services is mandatory.
MFIP is jointly administered by the Department of Human Services and the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). Program funds are allocated by DHS to the counties through the MFIP Consolidated Fund. Counties generally contract with provider agencies for the provision of employment services. The provider agencies are typically located in Minnesota WorkForce Centers.
To apply for this program, the local county human services office should be contacted. Questions regarding the employment services component of MFIP may be directed to Bruce Borgh, 651-259-7532, TTY: 651-296-3900.
