Employer Satisfaction

Employers served by the Minnesota WorkForce Center System are surveyed about their satisfaction with services. The chart below shows satisfaction levels over time.

**NOTE**: There will be no results or MnCSI score updates for the July 2007-June 2008 period. New survey questions were implemented with the May sample (Employers served in April 2008) and a new sampling method instituted with the July sample, so we'll provide a 6-month result update next quarter of BOTH the old and the new results.

Employer comments from the open-ended questions for the April 2008-June 2008 quarter can be found here.

Results at a Glance: April 2007 - March 2008

  • Current results are for a full 12-months using the new questionnaire, which includes a newly conceived Business Services module.
  • On the 0-100 scale of the Minnesota Customer Satisfaction Index (MnCSI), employers reported a score of 75.0 for this twelve-month period.
  • Employers in Greater Minnesota reported higher satisfaction than employers based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, with MnCSI scores of 75.7 and 72.9 respectively.
  • 80 percent of employers surveyed had posted one or more job openings in the last six months. Almost nine out of ten reported they could usually tell if an applicant had found out about the job opening through their Minnesota’s Job Bank/WorkForce Center posting.
  • 40 percent of the employers who had placed a job posting felt they had the right number of applicants as a result of their posting. (40 percent reported too few applicants, while only 4 percent felt they received too many.)
  • 95 percent of respondents said they would recommend a colleague to post with Minnesota's Job Bank/WorkForce Center the next time they had an opening.

Summary and Complete Results: April 2007 - March 2008

The 12-month average MnCSI score for the entire WorkForce Center System is 75.0. See:

Methodology

The Minnesota WorkForce Center System conducts an ongoing survey of employers served through the system. Samples are drawn monthly of employers who received one of 12 designated services (1) and/or placed a job order through a WorkForce Center during the previous month. Job Service, Rehabilitation Services, State Services for the Blind, Labor Market Information (LMI), and job training partner staff deliver and record the services. A DEED staff member trained in interviewing conducts the telephone interviews. The questionnaire consists of a core set of questions plus four modules covering: business services, LMI, worker recruitment, and WorkForce Center-sponsored events. Each contact completes no more than two modules. (2)

  • Total sample size was 1486 employer contacts; 51 percent had submitted a job order and 49 percent received another service. Interviews were completed for 73 percent of the total sample (1098 respondents). See more information about the response rate.
  • See a break-out of the sample by service provided and by location of service (Workforce Service Area).
