Current Employment Statistics

The Current Employment Statistics (CES) Program conducts a monthly survey of 5,600 nonfarm employers to gather information on wage and salary employment, hours worked and wages earned. The data provide a count of jobs not people employed in the state and in metropolitan statistical areas.

The Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) Program tracks wages and employment by industry at the state, regional, county and minor civil division levels. QCEW, provided quarterly and annually, is a comprehensive and accurate source of employment and wage information and is a key component in many economic research projects.
