How Do I Apply for Unemployment Insurance Benefits?
Unemployment Insurance (UI) is a program that provides benefits to workers who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own. This short-term income is designed to replace part of a worker's wage while the person is looking for work. These benefits are supported by a tax paid by employers covered by the Unemployment Insurance Program. You can apply for UI right on the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development website. The website also provides resources for employers.
