Strategic Plans

Strategic plans that are developed by the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED)--or are DEED-related--are the result of long-range planning efforts that provide direction on DEED's future. Strategic planning involves an examination of the current environment, awareness of the pending challenges and opportunities, and regular check-ins so strategic plans become ongoing time-management tools that tell leaders and staff where to focus energy and resources.

Agency-wide

  • Driving Minnesota's Economic Growth: A Strategic Action Plan - highlights specific initiatives DEED has and is taking to address workforce and economic development issues in Minnesota; February 2004

  • Minnesota's Unified Plan for WIA - the State's comprehensive vision of a workforce investment system, including broad economic, education, training, workforce development, and related goals in response to the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998 and coordinated by DEED; May 2007
