21st Century Mineral Fund Program - Annual Program Summary
Purpose
This program makes loans or equity
investments in mineral processing facilities including, but not limited to, taconite processing,
direct reduction processing, and steel production.
Customers and Services
Customers are industrial businesses located in--or to be located in--Minnesota that will assist in making Minnesota's mineral industry globally competitive.
Measures
This program has been inactive since 2003, but money was partially restored in 2007; there are no measures yet to report.
Funding Source and Allocation
Funding of $14,900,000
for 2007 was appropriated in the 2007 bonding bill.
