Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Youth Service Providers

The Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services provides youth services to in-school/out-of-school youth and to Minnesota Youth Program (MYP) youth. Staff members work with local partners to develop a service strategy with the youth based on individual needs and arrange for appropriate services. Services Provided

Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Youth Employment Specialists work with schools, nonprofits and other agencies to create personalized strategies designed for each participant based on his or her education, skills and support needs. Services offered include:

  • Comprehensive guidance and career counseling.
  • Tutoring, study skills training, and instruction leading to completion of secondary school, including dropout prevention strategies.
  • Alternative secondary school services, as appropriate.
  • Employment opportunities that are directly linked to academic and occupational skill learning.
  • Basic skills and work readiness training.
  • Occupational skills training, as appropriate.
  • Leadership development opportunities, which may include community service and peer-centered activities encouraging responsibility and other positive social behaviors during non-school hours, as appropriate.
  • Supportive services.
  • Adult mentoring.
  • Follow-up services for not less than 12 months after the completion of services.
  • Referrals to appropriate resources as needed.
